Take a moment to review all application materials. Acquaint yourself with deadlines and those portions of the application for which you are responsible. Organize your thoughts regarding your essay topics and responses to lengthier questions.
Complete the Common Application online or in print. Please note that the application is not considered complete until you have written your essays. Remember to fill in your name and UD ID# or date of birth at the top of each page in the event that parts of your application become separated from one another.
Request official SAT Reasoning and/or ACT with Writing scores to be forwarded to the University of Delaware by the Educational Testing Service or the ACT Program.

If a student takes the SAT Reasoning Test more than once, we will combine the best individual scores from each test taken. For students applying to the Honors Program, at least two SAT Subject Tests are strongly recommended. Students who have taken AP exams should also have official AP scores sent to UD.
International applicants whose native language is not English should consult instructions for international applicants for testing requirements.
If you have taken college courses, request that official college transcripts be forwarded to the Admissions Office by the registrar(s) of college(s) attended. A final transcript must be sent upon completion of any courses in progress. (Course descriptions are not required unless specifically requested by the Admissions Office.)
Give the Secondary School Report to your high school guidance counselor. Have your counselor send an official copy of your current high school transcript along with the completed Report by the application deadline.
Request letters of recommendation. Provide your
recommender(s) with the recommendation form included with the
Admissions Application. In lieu of using the form, recommenders are
also welcome to send us letters of recommendation on their own
stationery, but should ensure that the applicant's name and high school
are included with the recommendation. We require two letters of recommendation, with one letter of
recommendation from an academic source.
Submit, online or by mail, the completed Common Application and Supplement with $75 nonrefundable application fee.
