On March 20, 2026, Megan Wassil, a doctoral candidate in the water science and policy program, presented at UD’s Spark Symposium. This annual event, led by the Graduate College, brings together UD’s cutting-edge research in meaningful conversation with the broader community. Wassil’s presentation translated her complex research on PFAS in Delaware drinking water streams into an engaging story for a diverse audience. She was one of four doctoral candidates who presented their work at the symposium, bridging the gap between complex ideas and everyday life, to students, University faculty and staff and community members in a series of dynamic and engaging presentations. In addition to being a doctoral candidate, Wassil serves as a research assistant at UD’s Water Resources Center, a part of the Institute for Public Administration (IPA), a research and public service center in the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration.
