The Institute for Public Administration has announced the students selected to serve as the 2019 Legislative Fellows
About the Legislative Fellows Program
Begun as a partnership between the University of Delaware and the Delaware General Assembly in 1982, the Legislative Fellows Program is now sponsored in cooperation with Delaware State University and Wesley College. The program expanded in 2014 to include the Division of Research in Legislative Council. The program is managed by the University of Delaware's Institute for Public Administration. Dr. Jerome Lewis is the Director of the Institute for Public Administration.
On January 8, 2019, the 14 Legislative Fellows will commence their work at Legislative Hall in Dover. During their tenure, they will be working directly with legislators to respond to constituent concerns, conduct nonpartisan research on cutting-edge public policy issues, and staff committees. Staffing committees is a task that, in larger states, is conducted by full-time employees. The fellows count themselves lucky to be given such a prestigious and challenging responsibility.

2019 Legislative Fellows
"As in previous years, the Legislative Fellows Program's Selection Committee had the difficult task of selecting only a handful of outstanding students from the highly competitive cadre that applied," said Legislative Fellows Program Manager Lisa Moreland of the selection process.
Of the 14 students selected as 2019 Legislative Fellows, 12 are representing the University of Delaware and pursuing coursework in the College of Arts & Sciences and a total of 10 are representing the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy & Administration.
To prepare for their tenure as fellows, the 14 students participated in a comprehensive orientation program which included visits with University of delaware Provost Robin Morgan and College of Arts & Sciences Interim Dean John Pelesko.
