Campus Safety Updates
University of Delaware Police arrested a Wilmington woman on multiple charges, including trespass, harassment and stalking.
Ana Caroline Dasilva, 18, who has no affiliation with the University, turned herself into UD Police on April 20 after the department had made multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach her.
Investigation by UD Police revealed that a woman, later identified as Dasilva, had attempted to gain forced entry to a UD student residence hall earlier in the month. The victim — a 21-year-old undergraduate resident student — had severed contact with Dasilva, who continued to harass the victim with unwanted communication and harassing and threatening text messages.
Dasilva was issued a $5,000 unsecured bond and a trespass warning from the University of Delaware. She also has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
A man unaffiliated with the University of Delaware has been arrested on felony-level charges stemming from multiple alleged thefts of electric bicycles and scooters from UD’s Newark Campus.
New Castle County Police made a traffic-violation stop of Dreamon McIntosh, 27, on April 15. McIntosh was taken into custody, as a system search of his name revealed a March 23 warrant for his arrest that had been issued by the UD Police Department in connection with an investigation into e-bike and e-scooter thefts.
When questioned, McIntosh admitted to UD Police that he had committed multiple thefts of electric bikes and scooters from UD’s campus and posted photographs of several of the devices on Facebook Marketplace with the intent of re-selling them for profit.
McIntosh was transported to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington following his April 15 arraignment. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims and issued a trespass warning from the University.
