Campus Locations

UD's main campus is in Newark ("New Ark"), which offers the charm of a small college town, with easy access to major metropolitan areas. UD also has campuses in Wilmington, Dover, Georgetown, and Lewes, Del., and facilities in London and Paris.

Located near the northern tip of Delaware in Newark, the University is convenient to East Coast cities, including:

Driving Directions

From the north: Take I-95 South to Delaware Exit 1-B — Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. Continue straight on South College Avenue for approx. two miles, past such landmarks as the Bob Carpenter/Sports Convocation Center, Delaware Stadium, and the Delaware Field House. Continue going straight through the intersection of South College Avenue and Park Place until you reach the Visitors Center and the entrance to Visitors Parking Lot #41 on your left. After parking, walk south on South College Avenue about 1/2 block. You will see the new Visitors Center on your right. This will be on the corner of Winslow and South College Avenue on a campus map.

From the south: Take I-95 North to Delaware Exit 1 — Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. From the west: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Route 283 South. Continue on Route 283 South, which becomes Route 30 East outside of Lancaster, to Route 896 South. As you reach campus and cross the railroad tracks, immediately turn left onto Delaware Avenue and right (at the second traffic light) onto South College Avenue. Continue straight on South College Avenue to Visitors Parking Lot #41. Turn right into Visitors Parking Lot #41 (adjacent to the Visitors Center). After parking, walk south on South College Avenue about 1/2 block. You will see the new Visitors Center on your right. This will be on the corner of Winslow and South College Avenue on a campus map.

Train Service

AMTRAK: AMTRAK operates a nationwide rail network, serving more than 500 destinations in 46 states on 21,000 miles of routes, with nearly 19,000 employees. The name "AMTRAK" is the blending of the words "America" and "track." It is properly used in documents with only the first letter capitalized. The railroad is also known as the National Railroad Passenger Corporation.

SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority): The Pennsylvania General Assembly established the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) to provide public transit services for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. SEPTA is the nation’s fifth largest public transportation system, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.

Newark Unicity Bus System: The UNICITY Bus System is a service of the CITY OF NEWARK and UD TRANSIT of the University of Delaware, with funding assistance from the State of Delaware. 831-1187(UD Transit) or 366-7030 (Newark Planning)

Buses operate Monday through Friday EXCEPT New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

DART (Delaware Transit Corporation): Transit information, maps, and schedules. Serves the public transit needs of the entire state of Delaware. The mission of DART First State and the Delaware Transit Corporation, an operating division of the Delaware Department of Transportation, is to design and provide the highest quality public transportation services that satisfy the needs of the customer and the community.
