Feb. 15: Spring Career and Internship Fairs

Other career events scheduled for the spring semester

Spring semester career and internship fairs at the University of Delaware will begin on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Carpenter Sports Building.

This year, the Career Services Center made some dramatic changes to their Fall Career & Internship Fairs. The event, spanning two days, was hosted in the Little Bob; making the fair more accessible to students who could visit the fair between classes. Between All Majors Day and Engineering and Technology Day, more than 2000 students were able to meet and network with more than 200 employers. The Office of Alumni Relations was also on site providing free LinkedIn headshots in the Carpenter Sports Building.

If you missed out on these Fall events do not fear. There are many events, meetups, and fairs scheduled for the spring semester. View the list below and visit the Career Services Center website for more information and to register.

This spring the All Majors Career & Internship Fair and the Engineering & Technology Career & Internship Fair will be held on the same day at the same location (Carpenter Sports Building). The UD Young Alumni Network will again be offering free LinkedIn headshots.

Students are encouraged to download the Career Fair App by searching for “Career Fair Plus” in the app store. The app provides a complete floor map and tips for career preparation and networking. Additionally, the app offers a full list of employers and allows students to filter by the major or industry of interest and find specialized job and internship opportunities. And as always, all participants are encouraged to share their fair experiences on social media using #UDSpringFair.

New for the fair this spring is our Senior & Graduate Power Half Hour. Seniors and graduate students are invited to arrive at the fair at 3:00 p.m. for an extra half hour of exclusive networking opportunities with the organizations in attendance.

Leading up to the Spring Career & Internship Fairs are a variety of fun and informative events.

On Sunday, Feb. 11, students can participate in Suit Up at JCPenney. Students will be able to purchase professional apparel, shoes, and makeup for 40% off regular retail prices. The event will include door prizes and a deejay. Free transportation from campus to JCPenney will be provided from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., from the Career Services Center. On Monday, Feb. 12, the Career Services Center will host a Drop-in Kick Off Party from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students are invited to enjoy light refreshments while getting advice for making their resume stand out at the upcoming career events.
