Welcome

A Professional Graduate Program at the University of Delaware is a primarily practitioner-oriented degree designed to prepare the student for effective employment in Business, Industry, the Arts, Government, or Educational, Human Service, and Non-profit organizations.

Professional graduate programs are made up of graduate level coursework and experiences that lead to an array of credentials from Graduate Certificates to Professional Doctoral Degrees. Graduate Certificates are usually composed of credit-granting coursework in a defined area, and is recorded on an official University transcript of credit. Master's degrees are typically (but not universally) composed solely of coursework or have a professional paper, project, or directed practicum or internship as a capstone experience. The University also offers doctoral degrees in professional fields of Education (Ed.D.) and Physical Therapy (D.P.T.).

Many other Master's programs on campus, though not specifically identified as a professional program, have graduates who successfully obtain professional employment upon graduation. Please see the University catalogue or individual College for more details on those programs. About 115 master's programs are offered in a broad range of disciplines through UD's seven colleges - Agriculture and Natural Resources; Arts and Sciences; Business and Economics; Earth, Ocean, and Environment; Education and Public Policy; Engineering; and Health Sciences.
