Funding Opportunities

Many federal agencies and foundations offer grants, awards, and fellowships that limit the number of applications that can come from one institution. In order to increase the chances of UD succeeding in such "limited submission opportunity" applications, UD Research Office has established procedures for reviewing white papers for such competitions in a timely fashion. The Research Office will review the information provided and will respond regarding your submission.
University of Delaware Research Funding
General University Research Program (GUR)
These UD grants of up to $6,000 are awarded through the general UD budget primarily to projects in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
2009 GUR deadlines:
- Due to Chair — 10/06/08

- Due to Research — 11/10/08
- Awards announced — On or around 03/04/09

University of Delaware Research Foundation (UDRF)
The University of Delaware Research Foundation is a private corporation, chartered in 1955 to support research at the University. Early career, untenured, tenure-track faculty in the sciences and engineering are eligible for these annual grants of up to $35,000 each. Awards include $25,000 in UDRF Funding, which is matched by $5,000 from the Provost and $5,000 from the faculty member’s respective Dean.
This year there is a UDRF Strategic Initiatives Grant in addition to the annual UDRF grant.
