There are a number of funding opportunities available to Researchers at the University of Delaware. Please follow the links on this page for the different opportunities, award amounts and important dates. Funding opportunities for sponsored research are available to UD-eligible principal investigators from a variety of federal and state agencies and private foundations. Some excellent tools for identifying potential funding opportunities are:
COS Pivot is available to UD employees through a paid subscription from UD’s Morris Library and the Research Office. Library staff periodically offer workshops on effective use of the database.
Limited Submission Opportunities
- if a researcher should identify a limited submission that is not in the opportunities list, please forward the announcement to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Many federal agencies and foundations offer grants, awards, and fellowships that limit the number of applications that can come from one institution. In order to increase the chances of UD succeeding in such "limited submission opportunity" applications, UD Research Office has established procedures for reviewing white papers for such competitions in a timely fashion. To view the opportunities that have been identified to date by the Research Office please see Current Limited Submission Opportunities.
Pilot Grants (managed by Research Office)
Each year the Research Office invites faculty to submit proposals for annual programs of the University of Delaware Research Foundation (UDRF), General University Research (GUR) fund and the UD-Fraunhofer Collaborative Research Grant program. There are two UDRF programs (UDRF and UDRF-SI) to support scientific proposals, while the GUR provides grants for scholarly endeavors. The UD-Fraunhofer program funds pilot data, technology development, and graduate/undergraduate student fellowships. Teams must include at least one Fraunhofer CMB scientist and at least one UD faculty member. Complete guidelines, applications and forms for each of the program are available below.
Pilot Grants (not managed by Research Office)
