On behalf of our talented company of actors, designers, directors, and dedicated staff, I want to welcome you to our 19th season and thank you not only for being loyal subscribers and supporters of the Resident Ensemble Players, but also for being the most important partner we have in telling these stories.
The play doesn’t exist until you, the audience, join us as the final element in creating that ephemeral, communal magic we call live theatre. It’s what distinguishes it from all other art forms – and in a world increasingly digitized and technologically remote, preserving that distinction is more important than ever. That human connection. That shared presence. There is quite literally nothing else like it.
Our shared humanity in all its glory – the good, the bad, and everything in-between – is on full display in the four shows we’ve selected this year. From a fascinating and inspirational autobiographical journey through the life of one of the world’s most important literary voices to a gentle and surprising romance that proves it’s never too late to find love to a madcap marital comedy of (table) manners to one of the most enduring and popular edge-of-your-seat thrillers ever written, we’re excited to have you join us for the ride and help us create these stories together… all the laughter, the suspense, the drama and the alchemy that happens when the house lights dim and the curtain rises.
