Employee Fitness Classes

Employee-only fitness classes provide a fun and upbeat way to stay healthy and fit. Our classes are welcoming to all fitness levels and the instructors will tailor the class to meet your needs.

When you register for an employee class, you are guaranteeing your spot in that class for the entire session.  This results in the class progressing together in their fitness goals while getting to know one another.

Once registered in HealthyU, please download a waiver and bring it to your first class (only one form needs to be completed per calendar year).

New policy effective July 1, 2014: If your class balance is not paid by the 2nd week of the session, your spot will be canceled and made available to someone else.

Boot Camp - This total body conditioning class will work you out from head to toe. Using various drills, you will work on balance, strength, agility, and core. This interval class is sure to keep you on your toes and allow you to push yourself to the next level. Whether you’re an athlete, or looking to try something new, this class is for you.

Cardio Tone- This class includes a variety of muscle toning and body sculpting techniques utilizing step platform, exercise bands, medicine ball, weights and body bars.  YOU control the intensity of your work out! Intermediate to advanced level.

Foundational Yoga-  This style of yoga is geared for the beginner, but can help even the most experienced improve their postures. The various poses will be done both seated and standing, and focus on technique and safety.

Gentle Yoga- This sequence can be practiced irrespective of age or physical condition. It consists of easy stretches, breathing exercises, and concludes with a brief meditation. The stretches are particularly designed to increase the flexibility and strengthen the spine and hip areas and prepare one for meditation. Emphasis is placed in holding postures for maximum benefit and mindfulness during practices.

Hip Hop Yoga- This is yoga, with a twist! The traditional yoga poses will be combined to fun, upbeat music. For those who are not looking for the mind-body connection, but still wishing to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance, this class is for you.

Intramural Volleyball- Whether you want to play competitively or recreationally, volleyball is a great way to get a workout in while having some fun! You can sign up with your coworkers or as a single to be placed on a team. You will play all of the other teams, round robin style. Get a crew together and come join the fun.

Pilates- Pilates is a total body conditioning class that focuses on postural alignment, core work, and controlled breathing. This class is sure to lengthen, strengthen, and ease your mind!

Taiji- This ancient Chinese form of exercise will combine a series of low-impact exercises with deep breathing to help you achieve strength and relaxation.

Weight Training for Women- The weight room can be an intimidating place for women. This class allows women to lift in confidence, during a private ladies-only session. The instructor will develop and guide you through workouts. Each woman lifts her own weight at her own pace, with the instructor there to correct form and ensure safety. This class meets twice per week.

Yoga- This yoga class will focus on flow yoga. Focus on the breath in combination with various poses will help strengthen your body and your mind. Whether you are a yoga junkie or just starting out, this class will be sure to challenge all levels of strength and decrease of stress.

Zumba Gold- Have you ever wanted to try Zumba, but been too intimidated to sign up? Then Zumba Gold is for you! This beginner Zumba class is geared to teach you all of the Zumba steps set to the same exciting, up-beat music for a great calorie-burning workout!

Zumba- This workout combines high energy and motivating music with synchronized dance movements designed for any fitness level. The routines feature aerobic fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Want to burn some calories and have fun? Then Zumba is for you!
