Employee Fitness Classes

Employee-only fitness classes provide a fun and upbeat way to stay healthy and fit. Our classes are welcoming to all fitness levels and the instructors will tailor the class to meet your needs.

When you register for an employee class, you are guaranteeing your spot in that class for the entire session.  This results in the class progressing together in their fitness goals while getting to know one another.

Once registered in HealthyU, please download a waiver and bring it to your first class (only one form needs to be completed per calendar year).

New policy effective July 1, 2014: If your class balance is not paid by the 2nd week of the session, your spot will be canceled and made available to someone else.

New Policy Effective December 1, 2014: If the University is closed, employee classes will not meet and will not be made up.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Aqua Zumba- This class is perfect for anyone looking to mix up their Zumba routine, or for anyone looking for less impact on their joints. The water will create natural resistance, helping you tone your muscles while dancing to the music!

Balance & Core- Balance is not only for fall prevention, but helps improve our overall function and fitness. This low-impact class will combine balance and agility drills with core exercises to make you stronger and more stable.

Intramural Beach Volleyball- Whether you want to play competitively or recreationally, co-ed outdoor volleyball is a great way to get a workout in while having some fun! You can form a team with your coworkers or be placed on a team. Get a crew together and come join the fun.

Intramural Dodgeball- Remember how much fun dodgeball used to be in gym class? Well, it’s back! Sign up as a single or as part of a team for our weekly dodgeball league. Our co-ed teams will play traditional 6vs6 dodgeball. Get those throwing arms ready!

Pilates- Pilates is a total body conditioning class that focuses on postural alignment, core work, and controlled breathing. This class is sure to lengthen, strengthen, and ease your mind!

Step- Includes choreographed routines which feature the use of a step for a fun and challenging workout. STEP aerobics is a low-impact, high-intensity workout where the intensity is determined by the speed, travel and execution of the movement.

Strength, Conditioning & Core- This class will vary each week. Some classes will focus on strength and body sculpting techniques, while other will focus on improving your cardio.  YOU control the intensity of your work out while improving all aspects of your personal fitness.

Yoga- This yoga class will focus on flow yoga. Focus on the breath in combination with various poses will help strengthen your body and your mind. Whether you are a yoga junkie or just starting out, this class will be sure to challenge all levels of strength and decrease stress.

Zumba Gold- Have you ever wanted to try Zumba, but been too intimidated to sign up? Then Zumba Gold is for you! This beginner Zumba class is geared to teach you all of the Zumba steps set to the same exciting, up-beat music for a great calorie-burning workout! Zumba gold features more verbal cues and instruction.
