Special benefits for all Blue Hens
ALUMNI | Alumni can receive exclusive discounts on auto and home insurance through a partnership between the UD Alumni Association and Liberty Mutual. The alumni discounts can apply to home (primary or secondary), auto, boat, recreational vehicle and renter’s insurance.
University of Delaware alumni qualify for a special 10 percent group discount through Group Savings Plus® from Liberty Mutual. With Group Savings Plus, alumni can enjoy the convenience of paying their premiums through payroll deductions, with no down payment or finance charges. They also have access to round-the-clock claims service and a variety of other savings, including multi-car, multi-policy, safe-driver, passive restraints and anti-theft device discounts.
Danielle Biondi, AS ’99, account manager at Liberty Mutual, says that since the program launched in May 2007, hundreds of Blue Hens have taken advantage of its benefits. “In 2008, there were more than 551 UD alumni [in the program], who are currently saving $180,705.96 on their auto insurance,” she says.
