Delaware to meet Delaware State in football
SPORTS | The University of Delaware and Delaware State University have agreed to meet in four football contests, beginning this fall.
The two universities will play their first-ever regular-season matchup on Sept. 19 at Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium. Game time and ticket information will be announced later this spring. Check www.bluehens.com for updates.
The series will continue at Delaware Stadium with games in 2012, 2013 and 2014. This year’s contest became possible when Furman University dropped out of a scheduled Sept. 19 game at UD.
“We look forward to this year’s game and to all our future meetings,” UD Head Coach K.C. Keeler says of Delaware State. “It’s always exciting to begin a new rivalry."
