The Newark Police Department responded to the James F. Hall Trail, between Manuel and Academy streets in Newark, for a reported indecent exposure, lewdness complaint on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

A 34-year-old woman reported that at approximately 8:30 a.m., while she was biking on the trail, she observed a man who appeared to be masturbating in the tree line.

The suspect was described as a white male, 35 to 50 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a heavy build, dark colored hair, a beard or unshaven and wearing a light-colored shirt and light-colored pants, possibly a hat and glasses. He was standing in the trees off the trail.

The woman continued on her way and reported the incident after she returned home. Officers checked the area on foot and were unable to locate the described suspect. There are no surveillance images available.
