Global research grants

Full-time faculty invited to apply by March 16

The University of Delaware’s Center for Global and Area Studies (CGAS) is accepting proposals for its 2018 grants program to support international research by full-time faculty members.

Applications for the competitive grants, of up to $5,000 each, must be submitted by March 16.

Funds can be used for research costs, international research travel and other expenses directly related to the proposed activities, and no cost share is required. Salary, stipends, equipment and costs related to conference travel are not eligible for grant funds.

Faculty teams may apply for a joint award, but the $5,000 maximum still applies.

Preference will be given to faculty members who have not received awards from CGAS in the past three years and whose scholarship contributes to the University’s Area Studies program.

The award period is from May 30, 2018, to May 31, 2019. A CGAS faculty committee will review the proposals and make recommendations, and recipients will be notified by April 20, 2018.

Questions should be addressed to Cynthia Schmidt-Cruz, csc@udel.edu, interim CGAS director.
