East Delaware Avenue reopens

Newark Police report no danger from suspicious package found on East Delaware Avenue

Newark Police are reopening East Delaware Avenue to normal traffic flow after a suspicious package found at Planned Parenthood in the 100 block of the street was cleared by the Delaware State Police explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit.

East Delaware Avenue was closed between Academy Street and Haines Street to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic after the package was discovered before 10 a.m., Monday, April 9.

Police said the package was determined to have been addressed to an employee at that location and was found to contain a file with papers in it.
