Newark Police investigate report of armed robbery on Thorn Lane

Newark Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 100 block of Thorn Lane at approximately 12:35 a.m., Sunday, April 22.

Two victims, a 19-year-old male and a 29-year-old male, were standing in front of the entrance to an apartment building. They said an unknown man approached them wearing a dark mask covering his face, while pointing a handgun at them demanding money. The unknown suspect fled on foot with one of the victim’s cell phones. 

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build, wearing a dark jacket, light colored pants and a dark mask.
