Spring 2018 PCS course guide
The Division of Professional and Continuing Studies spring guide introduces the services provided and lists the courses and programs slated for the upcoming semester.

Spring 2018 Professional & Continuing Studies catalog now available

New programs include Professional Drone Pilot Training

The spring 2018 program guide from the University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS) is now available in print and online.

Along with a listing and description of the business, healthcare, IT and legal courses offered throughout the spring semester, the publication introduces the services provided by UD PCS.

UD PCS offers several new programs this spring, including Professional Drone Pilot Training.  During the intensive two-day class planned for March 10-11, certified flight instructors from DARTdrones will deliver comprehensive flight training and prepare drone pilots for the FAA Part 107 Drone License exam.

“Since legally flying a drone for commercial use requires an FAA remote pilot certificate, we see a tremendous need for drone training in Delaware and the surrounding area,” said Vic Wang, UD PCS program coordinator. “Using the most popular drones on the market today, this course is designed for first responders, photographers, researchers, real estate agents and anybody else desiring to use drones for commercial or recreational purposes.”

The Division of Professional and Continuing Studies provides educational opportunities for anyone seeking to begin or complete their college career, enhance their professional skills, or enrich their personal lives. UD PCS also provides customized training and educational services to area businesses, organizations and professional associations.

As the adult and nontraditional learners’ portal to UD, PCS impacts more than 16,000 students—including University of Delaware employees—each year through UD credit courses and degree offerings, professional development courses, certificate programs, specialized conferences, workshops and lifelong learning member cooperatives throughout the state.

UD PCS will conduct a free information session on Jan. 18 from 6-8 p.m. in Arsht Hall on the Wilmington campus. Guests will have the chance to meet with faculty and program graduates, ask questions, and learn more about the programs.
