UD softball first baseman Kondravy named second team All-Northeast

University of Delaware junior first baseman Mariah Kondravy has been selected to the 2017 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-Northeast Region second team.

Kondravy, who earned first team All-Region honors as a freshman and second team accolades a year ago, becomes the first Blue Hen in school history to be named All-Region three times in her career.

Kondravy, who started all 53 games this season including 52 at first base, was tabbed second team All-Colonial Athletic Association last week. She led the Blue Hens and ranked eighth in the conference with a .365 batting average, while her 19 doubles led the conference and tied the UD single season record. Kondravy tied for fifth in the CAA and tied for sixth in a Blue Hen season with 62 hits, while her .576 slugging percentage was the ninth highest in the league.

Kondravy already holds the UD career record with 139 runs batted in and she ranks second in Blue Hen history with 25 home runs, just one behind teammate Anna Steinmetz. She also is second in UD history with 45 doubles, two shy of the school record, while her 185 career hits are fourth most.

Kondravy hit safely in 14 consecutive games, one shy of the school record, from April 22 through May 10, while she ranked second on the team with 16 multi-hit games, including a four-hit performance at Drexel on April 1. Kondravy belted five home runs on the year, including a game-winning three-run shot during a 5-4 win at Charleston on April 22.
