Newark Police investigate kidnaping, robbery report

Newark Police have announced that an investigation has revealed that a March 13 report of a robbery at Christina Mill Apartments was a false report.

Police responded at 8:13 p.m., March 13, to a report of a robbery and spoke with a 24-year-old woman who said she was approached from behind while in the parking lot of the apartment complex. She said she was forced into her apartment with a weapon held to her back and that a male suspect stole jewelry from her and then fled the area.

Newark Police said charges for falsely reporting an incident are forthcoming.
