April 6: 'Update on Diabetes'

Symposium to focus on challenges diabetic patients face

The Evelyn Hayes Innovations in Healthcare Symposium returns at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6, at the University of Delaware STAR Health Sciences Complex, 540 South College Ave., Newark.

Ripu S. Hundal, director of First State Endocrinology, will present “Update on Diabetes – Part II.”

This symposium will focus on the challenges that diabetic patients face in everyday life, as well as review disease pathology, treatment guidelines and an overview of the current pharmacological agents available for treatment. Patients, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals and students are all welcome.

About the speaker

Ripu Hundal has been a practicing endocrinologist for 18 years. He graduated from Government Medical College in Amritsar, India. He then completed a Fellowship in Endocrinology from Yale University School of Medicine. Currently he practices at First State Endocrinology and is affiliated with Christiana and Wilmington Hospital. Hundal is board-certified in endocrinology and metabolism and has earned a “Top Doctors in Delaware” award on numerous occasions.
