UD's Nick Patten named to NCAA All-Regional tournament team

University of Delaware sophomore first baseman Nick Patten was named to the NCAA All-Regional tournament team for his play in Lubbock, Texas.

Patten went 3-for-7 with a run scored and two RBI over the two games. The slugging first baseman also walked three times and made several excellent defensive plays to lead the Blue Hens.

The Colonial Athletic Association first team selection concluded the season hitting .312 with team highs of 14 home runs, 58 runs scored and 54 RBI. Patten also made just five errors in the field.

The CAA champion Blue Hens (34-23) made a spirited run at the regionals before coming up just short in both outings. UD fell to national No. 5 seed Texas Tech 5-2 in the opener before dropping a heartbreaker to regional No. 2 seed Arizona 6-5 in 12 innings in the elimination game.
