University of Delaware men's basketball rising junior Eric Carter and recent graduate Curtis McRoy have been named to the 2016-17 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court.

Carter, a native of Jackson, New Jersey, was one of four Blue Hens to appear in all 33 games last season, while making 24 starts on the year. A criminal justice major, Carter ranked second on the team and 16th in the Colonial Athletic Association by averaging 5.4 rebounds per game, and he was fifth on the squad with a 6.6 scoring average while shooting 50.6 percent from the field.

Carter reached double figures in eight games on the year, including a career-high 20 points on 9 of 10 shooting from the field at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He posted a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in the season-opener against Goldey-Beacom College, and added his second with 19 points and 10 boards during the CAA tournament win over Hofstra.

McRoy, a native of Annapolis, Maryland, who graduated from UD in May with a degree in criminal justice and sociology, was named to the NABC Honors Court for the second consecutive year. He appeared in 13 games while making four starts as a senior, when he totaled seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.

In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, an athlete must be a junior or senior academically, boast a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year, and have matriculated at least one year at his current institution.
