Deadline extended to March 17 for Regional Undergraduate Student Research Conference

A call for papers and poster presentations has been extended for the seventh Regional Undergraduate Student Research Conference to be held Saturday, April 8, in the Ivory V. Nelson Science Building at Lincoln University in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

The annual conference is sponsored by the University of Delaware’s Department of Black American Studies, Lincoln University’s Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, Delaware State University’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and Arcadia University.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Black Lives Matter: The Role of Research in Creating Safe Spaces for Thriving,” and the deadline for student proposals has been extended to March 17.

The conference provides undergraduate students the opportunity to introduce the creative and innovative research work they are doing in their respective disciplines.

Proposals are invited from, but not limited to, the follow areas: communications, media studies, music, psychology, medicine, science, technology, education, labor, community engagement, gender and sexuality, Africa and the diaspora, ethnic and cultural studies, feminist and black feminist theory, and any aspect of the humanities, technologies, or the sciences. Proposals should be submitted electronically to Yolanda Echevarria, of the Lincoln University Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, at yechevarria@lincoln.edu and must include:

• Submitter’s name, phone number and email address;

• Title of paper, panel, poster, or roundtable;

• University affiliation; and

• Abstract of approximately 150 words in Word or PDF format.
