‘Library Orientation for Office Personnel’ workshop offered
The University of Delaware Library invites University staff members to attend its staff development workshop for office personnel.
The orientation, scheduled Jan. 18, will introduce UD office personnel to the services and resources available through the library.
Participants will learn:
• How to find books, articles and video resources through the library catalog, DELCAT Discovery, databases and eJournal collections.
• How librarians support faculty, staff and students through consultation services, instruction and the creation of research guides.
• How to help support those who publish through the resources and services offered by the Scholarly Communications program.
How services and technologies available through the Student Multimedia Design Center support student creation of multimedia content.
• How the University Museum collections and rare books and manuscripts held by the Special Collections unit support teaching and learning at UD.
“Library Orientation for Office Personnel” will be offered from 10-11:15 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, in Library Instruction Room 116A on the first floor of the Morris Library.
Presenters will be Tom Melvin, librarian, Reference and Instructional Services Department, and Meg Grotti, associate librarian, Reference and Instructional Services Department.
Following the workshop, participants are invited to join a brief tour of the Mineralogical Collection in Penny Hall from 11:15 a.m.-noon.
