Women's health services

Sandy Elliott offers on-campus women’s health services through STAR Health

The University of Delaware’s Nurse Managed Primary Care Center is now offering comprehensive primary care services to UD employees and the general public.

A wide range of women’s health services will help meet the needs of its female patients. All family and adult nurse practitioners can see patients for routine women’s health issues during regular hours of operation from Monday to Friday.

And, to expand availability and scope of women’s health services, Sandy Elliott, certified nurse midwife and advanced practice registered nurse, will now exclusively see patients for women’s health appointments on Wednesdays.

Women’s health services include:

• Breast and pelvic examinations;

• Pap smears;

• Contraceptive options counseling and services including IUD and implant insertion; and

• Treatment options for menopause symptoms.

Elliott comes to STAR Health with 25 years of experience in women’s health. She has worked in a variety of practices in Delaware, caring for women from adolescence through menopause. She is currently a full-time instructor in the School of Nursing.

Her areas of interest include incorporating the needs of the LGBTQ community into primary care, presenting various contraceptive options for all women, and providing options for women with menopausal symptoms.
