The University of Delaware Institute for Global Studies (IGS) and Center for Global and Area Studies (CGAS) will host their semi-annual Study Abroad and Global Studies Fair from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Trabant University Center Multipurpose Room.

“This is an ideal opportunity for students to investigate the academic and co-curricular global opportunities that UD offers, as well as to meet their prospective study abroad faculty director, and those of us at IGS who administer the programs,” said Lisa Chieffo, associate director for study abroad. “It’s a global one-stop-shopping event.”

UD students are invited to explore more than 100 study abroad and alternative break programs taking place from fall 2017 through spring 2018 in locations ranging from Antarctica to Vietnam, with many more in between.

Faculty members and study abroad alumni will be present to answer questions and share their experiences with fellow UD students. Students will also have the opportunity to ask representatives from Student Financial Services (SFS) any questions about financing study abroad and scholarship opportunities. 

For those interested in a globally-focused curriculum, advisors from Area Studies majors and minors in African Studies, European Studies, Asian Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies and Latin American and Iberian Studies will be present.

Attendees will also be invited to explore not-for-credit and post-graduate options to go global with the Delaware Diplomats, English Language Institute and UD Fulbright Program.

The Center for Global and Area Studies (CGAS) is both a hub for global learning and a support center for international research. Bringing together faculty whose expertise spans disciplines and world regions, the CGAS promotes research that increases global awareness and fosters an academic community that is increasingly connected to the "global village."
