‘Turning the Politically Correct into Opportunity to Connect’ is focus
The University of Delaware LGBTQ Caucus will present a keynote and workshop titled “Turning the Politically Incorrect into an Opportunity to Connect” on Wednesday, March 1, in Multipurpose Rooms A and B of the Trabant University Center.
Invited guest speaker Chris Crespo, inclusiveness director with Ernst and Young, will present on the topic “LGBTQ Networking” from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
This lecture and workshop will provide an opportunity to reach the campus community from a wide range of disciplines, as well as students, faculty, staff and administration, as Crespo speaks to the topic of how an inclusive workplace can maximize business results.
At the keynote, participants will learn from Crespo’s background and experiences as she gives her take on the importance of leveraging diversity for networking.
Those who attend can take what they learned from Crespo’s keynote and practice their networking skills with students, faculty, staff, Ernst and Young professionals, and members of the Delaware community at the afternoon workshop from 1-2 p.m.in 209-211 Trabant University Center.
As an inclusive director on the Americas Talent Team at Ernst and Young and a member of the Americas Inclusiveness Center of Excellence, Crespo focuses on integrating diversity and inclusiveness into everyday business processes and connecting Ernst and Young professionals to each other and the marketplace through its professional networks and sponsored conferences.
As the LGBTA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and ally) inclusiveness strategy leader, she plays an integral role in defining the company’s leadership in LGBTA inclusiveness and workplace practices, originating in the U.S. and now leading around the globe.
Crespo’s efforts have been recognized by being awarded the inaugural Americas Chairman's Values Award at Ernst and Young and the Trailblazer Award by Out and Equal Workplace Advocates.
