Feb. 28: 'Embrace' documentary

Film exploring global issue of body loathing to be shown at Trabant

The Nutrition and Dietetics Club at the University of Delaware will host a screening of Embrace, a documentary that explores the global issue of body loathing, on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The curtain will open at 7 p.m. in the Trabant Theater. The event is free and open to the UD community and general public; donations to the National Eating Disorders Association are welcome.

“In today’s society, it’s so important to recognize that all body shapes and sizes are beautiful,” said club co-president Katie Russel. “We hope to showcase that with this documentary.”

The Nutrition and Dietetics Club's goal is to promote nutrition and holistic health, which includes mental health and how people perceive their bodies. The screening coincides with National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

About the film

In Embrace, Taryn Brumfitt, founder of Body Image Movement, uncovers why poor body image has become a global epidemic and what women everywhere can do to have a brighter future. The documentary is funny, touching and, at times, gut-wrenching.
