Commitment to service

Students sought to serve as Community Engagement Ambassadors

University of Delaware students who are passionately involved in service are encouraged to apply for a leadership position on campus that advances their commitment to community engagement through a new student opportunity launched today by the Community Engagement Initiative.

The Community Engagement Ambassadors program is a paid peer-educator and leadership position on campus for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Running during the academic year, fall 2017 through spring 2018, ambassadors will work five hours per week promoting community engagement to the undergraduate student body. Planning service initiatives, facilitating training workshops on service learning and reflection, and recruiting students to get involved in community engagement are just a few areas in which program organizers said the ambassadors will be trailblazers.

Application details can be found on the Community Engagement Initiative website. Applications will be accepted until April 7, at 5 p.m.

For more information, students can attend the interest session on March 15, from 6 to 7 p.m., Room 222 Alison Hall. Interviews will be held the final week of April, with a class announcement scheduled for early May.

Those with questions about the program can email Valerie Lane at vallane@udel.edu.
