Newark Police located missing student

UPDATE: Newark Police have announced that the missing student has been located safely.

Newark Police are currently searching for Mahdi Haji A. Alsultan, a 24-year-old male University of Delaware student missing from Newark. He was last seen by friends on Dec. 6. Alsultan, who is from Saudi Arabia, has no family in the area.

On Dec. 9, Newark Police were called to investigate a report of a missing person, and officers made contact with friends, who said that Alsultan was last seen at his residence in The Retreat in Newark. Friends became concerned about his welfare after locating some concerning written statements. Officers have been unsuccessful in locating Alsultan and have a real concern for his welfare.

Alsultan is described as a male, is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information pertaining to the whereabouts of Mahdi Haji A. Alsultan is asked to call the Newark Police Department at 302-366-7111 or dial 911.
