May 12: Senior Fling

SCPAB to present annual Senior Fling featuring Hoodie Allen

The University of Delaware Student Centers Programming Advisory Board (SCPAB) and the University Student Centers will present the annual Senior Fling from 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 12, on the North Green.

This year’s Senior Fling consists of a shuffleboard, two Skee Ball tables, a rock wall, a Kapow obstacle course, bigfoot, potato sack racing, a giant slide, leather bracelet making, a caricaturist, a photo booth and a concert featuring musicians Hoodie Allen. There will be an opening artist that will be named at a later date. The event is free and open to all UD students.

The Spring Fling is held to celebrate graduating seniors, and they are encouraged to register for a chance to win a variety of prizes. The prizes being given out include the following: $500 gift cards to Amazon and Target, two tickets to the Firefly music festival, $250 Ticketmaster gift card, $300 gas care, Bose speaker, Google Chromebook, cookware, diploma frame, UD alumni bundle package, Nutribullet blender, UD portfolio, Fitbit, a year-long Planet Fitness membership, and various items donated from local businesses.

Only seniors can register to win prizes. Winners will be announced at 4:15 p.m. during the event, and seniors must be present to accept their prizes. Seniors can register to win by joining the alumni community through this website. Registration will end at 11:59 p.m. on May 11.

The concert will run from about 4:30-7 p.m.

The rain location for the Senior Fling is the Trabant University Center, and the concert would be held in the Multipurpose Room.

The event is co-sponsored by HOLA, Haven, WVUD, University Student Centers, the UD Alumni Association and the Senior Class Gift.

Hoodie Allen is a hip-hop artist who has toured with notable musical artists such as Passion Pit and Macklemore. Without a label or management, he created his first EP in 2012 titled All American. His most recent album, People Keep Talking, was released in 2014 and was written to inspire people to do what makes them happy in life.
