BrowZine workshop

Library offers workshop ‘Keeping Current with BrowZine’ on Oct. 12

Busy researchers at all levels who want to keep on top of the latest research in their fields of interest have a great new tool thanks to a new University of Delaware Library resource: BrowZine.

BrowZine makes it easy to access the UD Library’s journal subscriptions on a computer, tablet or phone.

Researchers can create a personalized bookshelf and receive notifications when new issues in their selected journals are published. From the issue’s table of contents, researchers can read or save an article as a PDF.

Using the BrowZine app allows researchers to open articles as a PDF or save the article to a bibliographic manager such as RefWorks.

A “Keeping Current with BrowZine” workshop on Oct. 12 will provide a hands-on introduction to this tool. The focus will be on the desktop version of BrowZine but participants are encouraged to bring their devices. They will be able to download the app, learn how to browse publications, create a bookshelf and read articles.

Faculty members can also learn how to link to a bookshelf of subject-specific journals or embed special journal issues into their learning management system (LMS).

“Keeping Current with BrowZine” will be offered from 2-3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Library Instruction Room 116A on the first floor of the Morris Library.

Presenter will be Maria L. Ziemer, senior community engagement librarian, Third Iron LLC.

The workshop is available at no charge and is open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. To register online, go to this website.

Participants are welcome to use the resources of the University of Delaware Library on-site. All visitors to the Morris Library need to have photo identification to enter the building, e.g., a UD ONEcard, a U.S. driver’s license or a government-issued or school-issued photo ID.

Call 302-831-2432 or email lib-workshops@udel.edu with questions regarding the workshops.
