Library announces ‘We, the People’ web page, research guide
The University of Delaware Library has created a new library research guide online in observance of Constitution Day.
Every year, Sept. 17 is observed as Constitution Day, which recognizes the signing of the Constitution by the delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on Sept. 17, 1787.
The day is also known as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day “to recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.”
Because Sept. 17 falls on Saturday this year, Constitution Day is being celebrated on Friday, Sept. 16.
Created by Rebecca Knight, associate reference librarian, in the Reference and Instructional Services Department, the Constitution Day guide “We, the People” presents selected resources on the variations of the Constitution considered by the convention.
Those with interest are invited to visit the Morris Library to pick up a pocket-sized copy of the U.S. Constitution any time between now and Constitution Day.
