UD Global offices to relocate

OISS, Institute for Global Studies to reopen in new locations on Oct. 17

UD Global is on the move. On Oct. 13 and 14, the University of Delaware Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) and the Institute for Global Studies (IGS) will move from their current locations to new homes on UD’s campus.

OISS and IGS will open for normal business hours in their new locations on Monday, Oct. 17.

• OISS will relocate from the Wright House at 44 Kent Way to Elliott Hall (26 E. Main Street).

• The Institute for Global Studies, currently located in Elliott Hall, will move to the second floor of John M. Clayton Hall (100 David Hollowell Drive).

During the move, both offices will be closed; however, OISS and IGS staff will be available via email. For general queries regarding international students and scholars, email oiss@udel.edu. For study abroad queries, email studyabroad@udel.edu.

The following regularly scheduled events will be impacted by the office moves:

Passport Day, sponsored by the Institute for Global Studies, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 11a.m.-4 p.m., in the Richard Zipser Room (Room 201) of Jastak Burgess Hall.

International Coffee Hour, a weekly signature OISS program, will be canceled for Friday, Oct. 14. On Friday, Oct. 21, Coffee Hour will relaunch at its new weekly home in the atrium of Old College Hall (18 E. Main Street). As part of a new partnership with the University Museums, those who attend the event each week from 4-6 p.m. will be invited to explore the Old College Galleries while they enjoy complimentary refreshments, music, and conversation with old and new friends from around the world.

The new locations will allow staff of OISS and IGS to provide enhanced services and programs to the University community.

OISS will offer expanded office hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with staff available beginning at 7 a.m. In addition, study abroad open advisement hours will continue to be held each Wednesday during the fall and spring semesters from 1-3 p.m. on the second floor of Clayton Hall.

Both Elliott Hall and Clayton Hall are accessible via foot and University shuttle bus, and have limited nearby metered parking spaces. In addition, Clayton Hall is adjacent to University parking lots for gray and red permit holders.

The Wright House at 44 Kent Way will be closed for renovations.
