Nov. 5: IFEST

UD Hillel to highlight culture of Israel in Trabant Now event

The University of Delaware Hillel will host IFEST, a night celebrating Israel and its culture, on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. in the Trabant University Center Multipurpose Room.

The event, which is part of the Trabant Now series, is free and open to all students and the public.

IFEST aims to take attendees on a one-night trip to Israel, without the expense of a plane ticket or a journey halfway around the world.

Nikki Golomb, Hillel student life president, and Ethan White, vice president, have been busy planning and preparing for this spectacular event.

“I am so excited to bring the culture and life of such an amazing nation to the University and share it with my fellow students,” said White.

Golomb is excited for this event to showcase just some of what Israel has to offer.

This late-night event will provide students with an opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of Israel. Highlights of the night will include an innovation station featuring Israeli technology, a fun photo booth, Israeli martial arts, a hummus bar, a surfboard inflatable and an opportunity to try the best Israeli snacks around.

From 10-11 p.m., there will be an interactive Krav Maga demonstration taught by senior instructors Rinaldo Rossi and Don Melnick of the Israel Krav Maga Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Attendees will also be eligible to win fun giveaways at the event such as Main Street gift cards, UD Hillel swag, skateboards, and more. Winners of raffle prizes will be announced at 11 p.m. that night.
