October 04, 2016
Horn Program announces Edgar Allan Poe-themed pitch party
The University of Delaware’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship will host Poe’s Pitch Party at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26.
This Edgar Allan Poe-themed edition of the Horn Program’s annual fall pitch competition encourages students to pitch and showcase their best entrepreneurial ideas without being haunted by their fears of presenting.
Contestants will be given 90 seconds to pitch their business ideas to a live audience and panel of accomplished judges. The first, second and third-place winners will be awarded a total of $1,000 in Venture Development Center cash to be used toward the development of their business, as well as tickets to Startup Weekend.
The Horn Program promises lots of spooky fun at an event that will include a Halloween buffet punch, raffle prizes and most importantly, 20 exciting startup pitches.
The competition will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the Venture Development Center at 132 E. Delaware Ave. There will be early appetizers served at 3:30 p.m.
The event is free, but pre-registration is required. To attend or participate, register via the Poe’s Pitch Party event page.
Last fall’s Halloween Pitch Party was a great success and attendance was sold out. Students are encouraged to register early to save a spot.
Registration will end at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24.
