University Library announces new site featuring maker resources

At the University of Delaware, the “maker culture” is an atmosphere of hands-on learning and making that transcends the traditional hierarchy of knowledge dissemination and cuts across faculty, staff and student populations.

The resources that support this culture are spread throughout campus and, given the nature of the technology, are constantly evolving.

The University of Delaware Library, as a central resource for information access, innovation and creation, has worked with various departments and programs on campus to create a Maker Resources @ UD webpage.

Maker Resources @ UD brings together the equipment, spaces and people at UD who help inspire others to make.

The new site pulls these resources together to allow those on campus to easily find information on: 3-D printers and scanners; video, audio and graphics creation; large format/specialty printing; GIS; and more.

The UD Library will work with those responsible for the resources on the Maker Resources page to keep their information up-to-date and to encourage communication in this network.

If there are resources on campus that are not yet represented on the Maker Resources @ UD webpage, contact Shelly McCoy, Librarian and Head, Multimedia Collections and Services, at smccoy@udel.edu.
