Funding opportunities for faculty

Focus on collections-based courses, research, public humanities

The Interdisciplinary Humanities Research Center (in the College of Arts and Sciences) and Special Collections and Museums (in the University of Delaware Library) invite all interested faculty to attend an informational meeting for two new funding initiatives from 4-5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Room 114 of Morris Library.

The 2017-18 grant cycle for the College of Arts and Sciences’ Interdisciplinary Humanities Research Center (IHRC) opens with a call for course proposals that offer students opportunities to participate in collaborative collections-based research projects as they also develop the public and digital humanities skills that are in high demand within the academy and transferable to a broader range of careers involving humanities research, education, and advocacy. See the IHRC Call for Proposals webpage for more information.

Simultaneously, the University of Delaware Library’s Division of Special Collections and Museums is issuing a call for proposals to support faculty research projects and public events programming centered on unique resources housed in Special Collections, Manuscripts and Archives, the Mark Samuels Lasner Collection and/or the University Museums’ collections.  See the Special Collections Call for Proposals webpage for more.

Those wishing to attend the Nov. 30 meeting are encouraged to RSVP to IHRC@art-sci.udel.edu.
