Parking collects 3,829 pounds of items for Food Bank of Delaware
University of Delaware Parking Services recently completed its third annual Cans for Cites and food drive program, which collected 3,829 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Delaware just in time for the holidays.
A total of 384 parking citations were paid with food items, and Parking Services plans to continue this popular amnesty program next fall.
Dining Services, the University Student Centers, Morris Library and the Ice Arenas were all key partners in the donation portion of the program.
A Parking Services representative offered “special thanks to them and to the University Movers, who were helpful in loading the Food Bank of Delaware truck on Monday, Dec. 19.”
