TEDx University of Delaware speaker nominations

Speaker nominations requested by Jan. 15, 2018

TEDx makes its return to the University of Delaware in 2018. TED enthusiasts, great thinkers, speakers, and performers are invited to "give the talk of a lifetime" at TEDxUniversityofDelaware 2018 on March 22 in the Trabant Multipurpose rooms.

This re-ignition of "Ideas worth spreading" at UD is centered on the broad theme of "Power."  This theme was selected to inspire multidisciplinary and transformative ideas consistent with the principles of TED, a nonprofit organization devoted to ideas worth spreading.

The TEDxUniversityofDelaware committee invites university faculty, staff, students and alumni members to submit nominations for speakers.  Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Deadline for submissions is January 15, 2018. The committee is especially interested in making the talks as diverse as possible, both culturally and by topic.

Nominations should include the potential speaker's name, affiliation with University of Delaware, email address, description of idea worth spreading, how the idea relates to the event theme, and information about why the nominee is a credible speaker. A 1-3 minute video of the nominee's speaking ability is also requested.

Speakers at the event will be allotted up to 15 minutes to address a topic that has broad appeal, relates to the event's theme, and is an idea worth spreading - a central principle held by the nonprofit organization.

Dynamic, highly visual presentations coupled with a storytelling speaking style are encouraged. As with TED guidelines, speakers are disallowed from addressing political and/or religious agendas, or promoting a company, and also precluded from using podiums or notes during their talk.
