Spring into Success

Conference-style event sets students up for spring semester success

The first semester of college goes quickly, and come January, many students realize that they didn’t check off goals they had set for themselves.

The Spring into Success conference, conceived by University of Delaware Residence Life and Housing, is designed to help students explore their goals and the resources that will help them achieve those goals.

“Sometimes connecting to the wealth of resources on our campus is harder said than done for a new student still early in their transition to college,” said Christina King, assistant director, Residence Life and Housing. “Spring into Success is about students becoming aware of the opportunities on our campus and being prepared to make the most of their spring semester here at UD.”

Two days of workshops, speakers and social events will focus on involvement, academic resources and personal development for students in their first year at UD, including transfer students.

The conference will include International Student Orientation and New Student Orientation for those students who are new to UD for spring 2017.

Workshops will be offered from Residence Life and Housing as well as by partners, such as the Career Services Center, the Office of Academic Enrichment and the Institute for Global Studies.

To facilitate conference attendance, residential students will be able to check in to their residence hall on Thursday, Feb. 2.

Pre-registration is required and will be available via the Residence Life and Housing website in early January.
