Major Break Information

Thanksgiving Break 2014

Thanksgiving break begins November 25, 2014 and residence halls close at 7pm. Halls will reopen on November 30, 2014 at 2pm.

Look for more complete information coming soon regarding Thanksgiving break options specific to your building.

Winter Break 2014

Winter break begins December 12, 2014 and residence halls close at 10pm. Halls reopen for Spring Semester on February 8, 2015 from 2-9pm, with room change period for students on campus during Winter Session from 9am-Noon.

If you have requested a mid-year room change, you should review complete information about changing rooms, when you are expected to move out and what to do with your keys.

Winter Session 2014-2015

Residence hall check-in for Winter Session January 4, 2015 2-9pm or for Winter Session walk-ins, 9am-3pm on January 5, 2015. Students leaving after Winter Session must check-out of residence hall by 7pm on February 7, 2015.

Spring Break 2015

Spring break begins on March 27, 2015, with halls closing at 10pm. Residence halls will reopen on April 5, 2015 at noon.

Break Housing

Residence halls (except Christiana Towers) close for three breaks throughout the school year: Thanksgiving, Winter Break & Spring Break. Students may request break housing for an additional fee in the following locations:

  • Independence Complex (Independence East & West, Thomas McKean, James Smith)
  • George Read
  • Smyth
  • Louis L. Redding & Eliphalet Gilbert
  • Russell/Lane/Thompson
  • Ray Street
  • Central Complex (Warner, Sussex, Squire, New Castle, Cannon, Kent, Brown, Sypherd, Harter, Sharp)

*Rodney and Dickinson are not available for break housing. If you are a resident of Rodney or Dickinson and you are unable to make other arrangements you may contact Residence Life & Housing at (302)-831-HOME (4663).
