With a commitment to creating a strong support system and learning environment, which fosters social and academic growth, UD parents play a vital role at the University of Delaware.

UD Parents Fund

The Parents Fund goal for the 2011-2012 academic year is to raise $250,000 from 1,280 families. To make your gift, visit www.udel.edu/makeagift and select "Parents Fund" as your designation.

The Parents Fund provides Student Life with valuable resources to support the education mission of the University through innovative services and programs that support student learning, encourage personal development and well-being, facilitate strong bonds among students, and enhance their identity with the University as a community.

The strategic methods to accomplish these goals require additional investment in the First Year Student Experience, Career Services, Student Leadership Development, and Late Night & Weekend Programs – including Speakers, Cultural Events, and student initiated activities that promote healthy lifestyle choices for UD students.

The departments within Student Life that further these goals include Career Services, Center for Black Culture, Counseling and Student Development, Dean of Students, New Student Orientation, Residence Life, Student Centers/Student Activities, Student Services for Athletes, and Wellspring, the University’s Wellness Education Program.

These are just a few areas directly impacted by our UD parents to ensure our students become the next generation of innovative leaders, outstanding professionals, and active and contributing citizens.

UD Parents Fund Council

Gifts of time are also valued. Parent volunteers serve on the Parents Fund Council and share their time and energy with UD. These proud UD parents provide leadership support for the Parents Fund and reach out to fellow parents to enlist their support of the Parents Fund. Our parent volunteers enjoy developing a connection with the university and with each other. The enthusiasm and commitment of these volunteers fuels the success of the Parents Fund.
