Parents of University of Delaware students are encouraged to be actively involved in the academic, social, and personal growth of their children as members of the University community.
The University also has a Career Development Model, which outlines steps for students throughout their four years that can better prepare them for eventual employment. Each step has specific activities in which the student can engage and suggestions for how parents can guide their children, as well as help other students become successful by sharing knowledge and advice through mentoring activities.
In addition to an invitation to the Newark campus each fall for a weekend tailored just for them, UD parents and families have a variety of resources at their disposal, including a wide range of library services, tips on how to understand some of the important transitions that take place as a part of the college experience, and regular news updates on UDaily, the University’s official news Web site.
Parents and families new to the University can tap into a wealth of online resources, from maps and directions to a comprehensive calendar of events and tips on where to park, where to stay, where to eat, and things to do on campus.
Subscribe to UDaily for Parents -- UD's online service providing parents and families with weekly updates from campus. An update of University of Delaware happenings and news will be e-mailed to you each Sunday.
