Members of the University of Delaware community include students, their families, friends, supporters, business and academic partners, as well as benefactors. The community is encouraged to be actively involved in University events and activities that inform, educate and entertain them.
From programs designed just for parents to special courses designed for kids and campus events that are mostly free and open to the public, the University prides itself in being an integral part of not only the city of Newark and the state of Delaware but a key player in national and international academic communities.
Many cultural, social and athletic events around campus complement the rich academic experience at UD. Community outreach programs and local volunteer opportunities build and strengthen bonds with a wide network of organizations and associations and create learning opportunities that greatly benefits the University community.
UD's main campus is in Newark ("New Ark"), which offers the charm of a small college town, with easy access to major metropolitan areas. UD also has campuses in Wilmington, Dover, Georgetown, and Lewes, Del., and facilities in London and Paris.
