Papers: A Documentary about Undocumented Youth
Thursday, September 16
6:30 pm; Purnell 115

There are approximately 2 million undocumented children who were born outside the U.S. and raised in this country.  Come hear the stories of what happens to these youth as they turn 18 without legal status.

For almost 25 years, Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, John Quiñones has worked as a co-anchor and correspondent for “Primetime” and “20/20.” Quiñones also anchored a critically acclaimed ABC News special called "Latin Beat," which focused on the impact of the recent population explosion and how it will affect the nation as a whole. More recently, Quiñones' work includes a series of reports entitled "What Would You Do?" The reports test human nature through hidden camera scenarios. Other recent work includes following Mexican immigrants attempting to cross into the United States, polygamous marriages in northern Arizona, and suicide bombers in Israel. Quiñones is also the author of “Heroes Among Us.” He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas. He received a master's degree from the Columbia School of Journalism.

In light of the LHM theme of togetherness, and Quinones’ book, we will recognize a few heroes among us at UD.
