University of Delaware community reports new publications, honors
For the Record provides information about recent professional activities and honors of University of Delaware faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Recent publications and honors include the following:
Publications
Margaret Stetz, Mae and Robert Carter Professor of Women's Studies and professor of humanities, continues to pursue an additional career as a poet. Her recent publications include "Commencement," a poem in Steam Ticket: A Third Coast Review, which is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (Vol 28. Spring 2025. pp. 75-76); "French Kiss," a poem in the long-established print journal Hanging Loose, No. 117 (Brooklyn, NY: Hanging Loose Press, 2025), pp. 115-116; "Shoreline," poem in a new print journal, Her House Magazine, Vol. 1 (Summer 2025), p. 42; and "Cicadian Rhythms," a poem published online in Feminine Collective, May 29, 2025.
Honors
UD’s chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) was awarded bronze chapter honors for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is the first time the group has received chapter honors. The designation recognizes a high level of achievement in the areas of member recruitment and engagement, community outreach and service, legislative advocacy and fundraising. Chapter President Morgan Roth said the students led volunteer trips, held numerous events, participated in legislative activities and made impactful donations to communication science disorders-related organizations. UD was one of 155 chapters in the country to receive honors this year.
