


Zoom Roundtable: Documenting your teaching for promotion and tenure

A Zoom roundtable, entitled "Documenting Your Teaching for Promotion and Tenure," will be held from 3:30-5 p.m., Friday, March 24.
Registration is required.
Faculty from across the University will share their insights and experiences from the promotion and tenure process and discuss the elements of a successful teaching portfolio. Each panelist has recently received a promotion or been awarded tenure. Participants will learn how to craft a narrative about their teaching to accompany their student evaluations of teaching and consider what teaching effectiveness means in the context of their courses and their disciplines.
Co-hosted by the Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL) and the vice provost for faculty affairs, this event is open to all instructors, especially faculty preparing for promotion or tenure reviews.
Participants will learn how to craft a narrative about their teaching to accompany their student evaluations of teaching and consider what teaching effectiveness means in the context of their courses and their disciplines.
Panelists include:
- Dannagal Young, professor of communication
- Jon Cox, associate professor of art and design
- Lindsay Naylor, associate professor of geography and spatial sciences
- Elizabeth Soslau, professor in the School of Education
The panel will be moderated by Adam Wallace, associate professor of geological sciences and chair of the Faculty Senate P&T Committee.
