Changes to Zoom licensing
February 15, 2022
Updated guidelines for Zoom Pro licensing for faculty/staff
All faculty, staff and active students will continue to have a Zoom Pro licensed account while affiliated with UD. (Faculty/staff accounts include those designated as staff by HR record, including full-time and part-time staff, misc. wage, adjunct faculty, etc.). Most users will keep their Zoom Pro accounts.
However, due to a recent Zoom licensing change, certain user accounts will be changed to Zoom Basic on Feb. 28, 2022. This includes the following groups: vendors, non-paid affiliates, retirees, alumni, and spouses.
For those moving to a Zoom Basic account, you will still be affiliated with the University and can attend University Zoom meetings as you have in the past.
How is Zoom Basic different from Zoom Pro?
Zoom Basic allows you to keep your Zoom credentials and personal settings, host and attend meetings (including meetings that require UD authentication), access previous cloud recordings, and record meetings locally to your computer.
What will change with Zoom Basic is that meetings you host will be limited to 40 minutes and you can no longer record to the cloud.
