DEPARTMENTS

From our Alumni Association

Alumni Association President Alan Brayman

In my last letter, I promised to share the details of the first phase of the University of Delaware Alumni Association (UDAA) strategic planning process that will help align the Association with the strategic plans of both UD—the Path to Prominence™—and the Office of Alumni Relations.

During the initial phase of the planning process, board members met on campus in December for an all-day work session, discussion and analysis. Under the direction of Mergence Consulting, 22 members of the board took time from their busy schedules to develop updated vision and mission statements. Several new strategic objectives for future implementation were developed from the day’s discussion.

The Association has also retained Mergence Consulting to complete the second phase. You can read more about this strategic planning process here.

Also, the Association sponsored a Feb. 14 brunch prior to the Pink Zone women’s basketball game. Over 150 enthusiastic alumni and UD friends gathered to show their support of the Blue Hens and breast cancer awareness. Coach Tina Martin was the guest speaker, YoUDee made a special appearance, and the team provided a great game and win for all guests to enjoy.

This is an exciting time to be involved with UD, but additional help is always needed. Please visit UDconnection.com to review the many volunteer opportunities available.

I look forward to seeing you at the second annual Forum & Reunion Weekend, June 4-6.

Sincerely,

Alan L. Brayman ’73BE
President, UD Alumni Association
